How to use

FAQ
What is the difference between with and without spaces?
With spaces counts every space, tab and line break as one character; without spaces removes them first. Application forms usually state which one they want.
How are EUC-KR bytes counted?
Hangul, Hanja and full-width characters count as 2 bytes; ASCII letters, digits, spaces and line breaks count as 1. This is the rule used by SMS 90-byte limits and older Korean systems.
How are UTF-8 bytes counted?
Per the UTF-8 standard: 1 byte for ASCII, 3 bytes for Hangul and 4 bytes for an emoji.
How do you count manuscript sheets?
One sheet holds 200 characters, so the character count with spaces is divided by 200 and shown to one decimal place. 1,000 characters is 5 sheets.
How is an emoji counted?
One character, and 1 byte under the EUC-KR rule (4 bytes in UTF-8).
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything is counted inside your browser, and only the last text you typed plus the chosen limit are kept in this browser's localStorage so you can continue after a refresh.
