How to use

  1. Enter the monthly wage (taxable pay, before non-taxable items).
  2. Pick the industry — the industrial accident rate differs by sector, so choose the closest match.
  3. Tick the 150-or-more-employees box if it applies; the employment stability levy goes up.
  4. The total monthly cost, the employer insurance breakdown and the annual payroll cost appear instantly.

FAQ

What goes into the monthly total?

The wage, the employer share of the four insurances, and a severance accrual of one twelfth of the wage. Severance is paid when someone with a year or more of service leaves, so the cost is spread monthly.

Why is the employee deduction figure lower than the wage minus take-home?

The employee figure shown is the four-insurance deduction only. Take-home pay (reference) additionally subtracts income tax and local income tax, so it is smaller.

How do I choose the industrial accident rate?

Each sector of business has its own published rate. Pick the closest match to the real business; the exact rate is published by the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service.

What does the 150-or-more-employees box change?

It raises the employment stability and skills development levy from 0.25% to 0.45%, which increases the employer's share.
