FAQ

How do I turn an hourly wage into a monthly wage?

At 40 hours a week, monthly pay = hourly wage × 209 hours (40 contracted plus 8 paid-holiday hours, × 365 ÷ 7 ÷ 12, rounded). KRW 10,320 an hour is KRW 2,156,880 a month.

And a monthly wage into an hourly one?

Divide by 209: KRW 2.5 million a month is about KRW 11,962 an hour and KRW 3 million is about KRW 14,354.

Is the weekly holiday allowance included?

Yes, from 15 hours a week. Below 15 hours there is no paid holiday, and hours beyond 40 are added at the same rate without an overtime premium.

What is the take-home estimate based on?

No non-taxable pay, one dependant, the 100% withholding rate and the 2026 insurance rates. On KRW 2.5 million a month it is KRW 2,217,910.
