  2. Type your contracted weekly hours, or pick 15, 20, 25, 30 or 40 hours with the buttons.
  3. The daily, weekly and monthly wage plus the paid-holiday hours and monthly contracted hours appear instantly.
  4. If the hourly wage is below the minimum, a warning shows how much you are short.

FAQ

Where does the 209 hours come from?

It is the average monthly contracted time of a 40-hour-week worker: 40 contracted hours plus 8 paid-holiday hours (48) multiplied by the average number of weeks in a year (365÷7) and divided by 12.

What happens below 40 hours?

Paid-holiday hours and the converted monthly hours shrink in proportion. Changing the hours recalculates everything at once.

What is the 2026 minimum wage?

The hourly figure set by the Ministry of Employment and Labour is used as the default and as the warning threshold. It is read from the shared rate table, so a new notice is picked up automatically.

What if my wage is below the minimum?

Falling below the minimum wage is a breach of the law and the shortfall can be claimed. Limited exceptions exist, such as the three-month probation period, so check your contract and the labour office guidance.
